Hilary trained with the Bates College Dance Festival, the University of Arizona, and is a certified instructor with the National Dance Institute under direction of Jaques D’Amboise of NYC Ballet.
Hilary Palanza was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She received her BA in dance from the Colorado College, which afforded her the opportunity to work with many independent choreographers, including Jack Sun of Taipei Artists’ Group, Rosengela Silvestre (Bahia, Brazil) and Sheldon Smith of Smith/Wymore Disappearing Acts.
Hilary had the pleasure of performing in the Bay Area and northwest with the David Herrera Performance Company from 2007-2010.
Hilary is the founding member of PALANZA dance. Her dancers give her constantinspiration and she is honored to make this her work. When Hilary's head is not in creation mode, she is probably running to the top of a mountain, drinking coffee, reading poetry, praising children, finding the next best thai curry or laughing at something others usually find not funny at all. She trained with the National Dance Institute in 2006 in New York City and has since taught in NYC, Maine, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, India and San Francisco. Hilary loves dance and the joy it brings.
